All Occasions
Many of the gift card ideas posted in other categories can be adapted to a variety of recipients–all you have to do is change the wording a little. For example, “Whisking you a Merry Christmas” can also be “Whisking you a Happy Birthday.” Here are just a few of the ideas you can play around with:
- Dough. I love the play on words, using “dough” to represent money on a gift card. We talked about the Christmas dough in a holiday blog. But you can swap the Christmas cookie dough out for pizza dough (moving, birthday, wedding, graduation), play dough (a child), or regular cookie dough for a birthday or other special occassion.
- Drama-Free. We wished our friends a Drama-Free holiday with a gift card to the movies. You can do the same for a birthday, new home, new baby, wedding. Goodness, what bride doesn’t need the blessing of a drama-free wedding!?
- Extreme. Hope you have an “XTREMEly” good birthday, wedding, vacation, graduation. We think you are “XTREMEly” great. Any place you can put “Extreme” in a wish, you can add your sentiment to an XTREME candy with a gift card to just about anywhere.
- Music. With a music gift card, you can say, “Hope your Birthday Rocks!” “Hearing your good news is music to my ears!” and “You make my heart sing.”
- Dream. “Working with you is a Dream,” “Hope you have a Dream of a day,” “I’m Dreaming You’ll have a Wonderful Christmas.” Attach a gift card to something dreamy like a CD of lullabies, hot chocolate, a cuddle pillow, or a picture of McDreamy.
- Buy-ology. This idea comes from the graduation section–a lesson in “buy-ology.” You don’t have to be a student to take the course! Send anybody out for a lesson in shopping with a reusable shopping bag and a gift card to the same store. Change the words to, “Though you might enjoy a lesson in Buy-ology.”
- Measure. Put a tape measure with a gift card to a home improvement store, a measuring cup with a gift card to the cooking store, or a fabric tape measure with a gift card to the fabric store. Write a note, “How can I measure…how much I love you, how much you mean to me, how much I appreciate your help, etc.”
- Easy as Pie. With a pie slice, a homemade pie, a pie server, attach a gift card and write, “Working with you is easy as pie.” “Loving you is easy as pie.” Change it to a piece of cake and add cake decorations, a piece of cake, a cake mix, etc.
- Dinner and Dessert. Attach a gift card to a restaurant to a delectable candy bar or homemade brownies. Write, “Enjoy Dinner and Dessert” on the tag.
Check out the list on the left. You can change what you see in “For Her” to be “For Him.” Or turn a “Thank You” gift into an awesome “Congrats” gift card. If you need a little help, just ask.
