K.I.S.S. for Valentine’s: Gift cards and notes.

We learned in our last poll that many of you would have preferred to receive gift cards this past holiday season because traditional gifts, in many cases, turn out to be a waste of time and money.

Is the sentiment the same for Valentine’s Day, however, when gifts are supposed to be tokens of affection, representing how you feel about a person? The answer is, “Yes.” 84 percent of people who responded to our poll said a gift card is a perfectly acceptable Valentine’s Day gift. And though 30% would like to receive a gift card, another 30% would like something a little more sentimental–like a handwritten note.

In a tough economy, it’s nice to see that simple gifts are appreciated and gift cards, which can save time and money, are welcome. The rest of the results are below.

   I think it depends on the couple/person. Like I give my mom starbuck or teenagers itunes for Valentines I want a Victoria GC as I need new bras and I know my husband would think a GC is easier.
