K.I.S.S. for Valentine’s: Gift cards and notes.
We learned in our last poll that many of you would have preferred to receive gift cards this past holiday season because traditional gifts, in many cases, turn out to be a waste of time and money.
Is the sentiment the same for Valentine’s Day, however, when gifts are supposed to be tokens of affection, representing how you feel about a person? The answer is, “Yes.” 84 percent of people who responded to our poll said a gift card is a perfectly acceptable Valentine’s Day gift. And though 30% would like to receive a gift card, another 30% would like something a little more sentimental–like a handwritten note.
In a tough economy, it’s nice to see that simple gifts are appreciated and gift cards, which can save time and money, are welcome. The rest of the results are below.

I’d say Michael’s (future wedding reception favors), Victoria Secret or Bath and Body Works.
May seems typical, but I am just getting into that girlie stuff
for myself Michaels or Hobby Lobby would be sooooo wonerful
I’d like to get a bookstore GC such as Borders
being a new stay home mom, i would want a card from anywhere!! Target, Michaels, the movies, or oh! the bookstore! i am always wanting books and coffee
Happy weekend
I said no to a gift card but that would depend, if it was well thought out but your special someone (husband in my case) just did not know what my size or color was it would be great
I would love to receive any type of gift card, then I could pick out something I could use. I enjoy clothing cards or bath products because I can choose something for myself. With other cards, I always seem to buy for my boys.
I’d pick a restaurant card for a person/couple that I didn’t know very well. Toy stores for little ones, coffee ones for my coffee loving friends.
