Win a Jiffy Lube Gift Card!
For the give away, I love the idea of partnering this “on the go” Jiffy Lube card with the popular Dr. Seuss book, “Oh the Places You’ll Go.” The combination would be wonderful as a:
- Graduation gift
- A going away present
- Congratulating someone starting a new chapter in their life
- Birthday gift for a new driver or someone who just got their first car
- Wedding gift for a young, newlywed couple
To enter this contest, leave a comment and tell me how you would turn a Jiffy Lube gift card into a thoughtful gift. How would you package the Jiffy Lube card? What items would you put with it and who would you give it to? (This is a family show, so keep it clean.)
Legal Stuff: Contest open to continental US residents only. Contest ends April 15, 2010 at midnight PST. Winner will be posted on the site for one month and notified by e-mail. Ok, answer the question! How would you turn a Jiffy Lube gift card into a thoughtful gift?

Your blog is really interesting to me and your subject matter is very relevant. I was browsing around and came across something you might find interesting. I was guilty of 3 of them with my sites. “99% of website managers are committing these five errors”. http://is.gd/gP5kZM You will be suprised how simple they are to fix.
fantastic job. i was searching for it. i will be back !
I think so many people are experiencing snow & ice this year that haven’t in the past I would make a ‘goodie bucket’ including but not limited to a snow and ice scraper, flares, flashlight etc oh and of course a Jiffy Lube Gift Card!
I enjoyed this post and also wanted to point out that I definitely like the design and feel of your site. I’m making use of wordpress as well on my blog but have been looking for a template like this which is considerably greater than what I have. I see the theme is listed on the footer so I will take a far better look at it.
Hello blog owner! I have a tiny request. I was just googleing for some info on the topic you wrote and found this post. Some really great stuff you got here. Can I please share this post on my new website I am currently workin’ on? Pretty please:). I will check back again later to see what you answered. Thanks, Josh .
I would give it to our neighbor who has helped us tremendously, given us food and support over the past few months. She always feels guilty about asking my husband to change the oil and now she won’t have to!
I would give it to a soldier returning from deployment along with linens and food, just a little something to help welcome them home!
I would place the gift card above the car sun visor for my father. He always uses it to shield his eyes from the sunlight while driving, so I’d definitely plan to place it there! I may have to hold on to it for a couple of weeks though–I think it’d be a cute surprise for his birthday!
I would the giftcard in a folded paper car! Thanks for the chance

I would make a great birthday present for the husband. I would give wrapped with a bucket and all the supplies to wash the car.
I would give it to my friend who is getting married in July for her shower gift. They are actually going on a road trip down the California coast for their honeymoon. I think I would put it in a small suitcase-shaped gift box, along with a mix CD.

I would give this to my dad for his birthday!
my idea- father’s day! i would pick out car related items like cleaners and cup holders etc. plus the promise of several little hands helping to wash his new used car
I would give the gift card to my boyfriend. He is graduating from law school and is going to be driving all over the place looking for a job! I would probably wash and detail his car (It really needs it!) and leave the gift card on the middle console as an added surprise.
My husband just got transferred to a new location within the company and I think this would make an excellent little gift to add to other car maintenance supplies. His job entails travel so it would be greatly needed and appreciated.
I would give this gift to my husband. He has been working twelve hour days, for the past two years… just trying to get a business started out of our home. He really enjoys working on our vehicles, but doesn’t have time to anymore. I would wrap this gift card up in some of his business stationary, hide it in his porfolio, and surprise him with it… along with a note saying how “here’s a little something to help save you some time on the car, thanks for all your hard work.” He really deserves a break! I picture him finding it during the work day and smiling because it would make his life a little easier.
I would give it to a couple that’s expecting a child!
I’d package it nestled inside a car seat along with a baby blanket, a snack dish with a lid, a sippy cup, and some finger puppets (my mother always kept these in the glove compartment to keep us entertained on long car trips).
I’d enclose a note written on a card in the shape of a wheel that says: “Because you never know where life will take you.” This works for the baby and the car maintenance!
thanks for the giveaway!

i’d give it to my husband, the car guy. how? at mel’s drive-in, they give you your burger in folded convertible cars. i think i’d take him to lunch there, then when his meal came, ask him to go up to the counter to grab me some tabasco and slip the card in the hood of the car…he he! cute! thanks for the giveaway!
While tempted to keep the gift card for myself since I am FINALLY getting a car of my own after 21 years…I would honestly give the gift card to my boyfriend. Besides…his birthday is coming up. I’m not sure how I would wrap it, I’m not that creative. Maybe I’d make my own wrapping paper out of a coloring book page. And, I would give him the gift card along with a copy of the new Final Fantasy XIII that just hit stores not too long ago. I think he’d be stoked. For both presents. He drives about 100 miles to see me every other weekend. The card would be put to use!
It would be a great gift for a college student leaving for school.

My brother is currently living in New Mexico while his family is in North Carolina. He and his wife are happily married. Last year when my brother lost his job he did what it took to get a job in his field….24 hours from his family. I called his wife a few days ago to offer what ever airline points I could to get him home. He’s on week 5 right now… A Jiffy Lube card would provide him with one more safely while driving home. I wish I could give him the world, but a g.c. is so thoughtful! Thanks for this opportunity.
If I won, I’d have it sent to his “extended stay hotel” his is at. Good mail across the miles is amazing.
I would put it on a balloon shaped as a toy car!
I think that would be really cute.
I would get a galvanized tub and fill it with car shammies, car air fresheners, a gift card to a gas station, and car cleaning supplies. A perfect gift for a new driver!
I actually came to enter this giveaway hoping to maybe win a prize I could give to my brother. His company cut all their employees’ hours down by 20% about a year ago, and the lost income has made things very difficult for him. I’ve been trying all year to find little ways to help him out (buying an extra gallon of milk or loaf of bread when I’m at the store and delivering them to him later), so this would be PERFECT for that purpose! I would probably pair it with a gift card for a gasoline fill-up, or maybe just a gift certificate for lunch at a fast food place. The little things add up!
Thanks so much for this opportunity!

I would give it to a wife whos husband is deployed, we always tend to forget about the oil changes for some reason. Maybe because we are busy with the kiddos. I would make her a card from her car and stick the gift card inside
My best friend has a 4-year old who is exhausting at times. If I won, I would put the card in a basket for her as well as the book for him. I would include a handmade coupon for my babysitting services. I would also put in a really good car air freshener as well as a gift card for a car wash. There would also be some fuzzy dice, because we would both find that funny. Finally, I would add some basics that you always seem to need in the car but never have, such as a small pack of Kleenex, baby wipes for clean ups, and hand sanitizer.
This is a great promotion!!! My parents work out of their cars. They put alot of miles on them. I would give them the gift card, with a gift card from a local gas station, and maybe some car cleaning products!!!

My lil sister is 5 months pregnant and has a car that keeps breaking down. she is having a baby shower next month and sticking this in there would be weird to other people, but when she got it, it would make complete sense to her.
I would love to give this to my cousin who has 2 really tiny kids and would do anything for a few moments of peace and quiet. Problem is she feels guilty when she actually is given a break!! So this should make her feel like she is getting a chore ticked of!!
I will pack it with a bunch of her favorite comics(Calvin and Hobbes) and a gift card to a coffee shop(which is close to our Jiffy Lube) so that she can have a relaxing enjoyable coffee break at the Jiffy Lube place while they take care of her car.
My 19 year old is going off to college this summer and I would put the giftcard in an empty tool box with a card..”when you think you can save money by changing your oil…use this Jiffy Lube Card and avoid the cost of calling a tow truck”
I would donate it to our local woman’s shelter! There are lots of single moms who were victims of domestic violence. Many have low paying jobs and I am sure one could use an oil change!
i would hold onto it until i thought of a good idea! maybe pair it with a gas card and give it to someone who is having financial problems at my church???
I would package it with a microfiber steering wheel cover and a gas card as a wedding gift to a couple going on a road trip honeymoon. I know I would have loved to get that as a gift for my road trip honeymoon!
I think it would be great to give to one of my friends who has recently moved- starting over in a new city with a well-working car & a cute book for silly inspiration
I would love to put this with a new car for my sister as she could use one…but maybe just some fun car items, like a air freshener. It would also be great to add a few other small gift cards and make it a package of things. this would be the “need” and another could be the “want” or something.
I have a single friend who is pregnant and bed ridden… Giving this to her along with a letter from me explaining that i will use it to take care of her car while she is down or even after the baby is born would be a neat idea. She needs all the help she can get and would love it i am sure.
I would give the gift card to my mother in a gift basket. In it I would also put car cleaning supplies and other car goodies. She would definitely appreciate it!
I think a really cute graduation gift would be buying a model convertible car and sticking the jiffy lube card leaning against the back seat. Then put a bow on the hood of the car. In the greeting card I would include a line something to the effect of… “You know I wanted to buy you a new car but instead thought I’d help you maintain the one you already have
”
